Installation
Install CleanCut on Mac or Windows.
How do I install CleanCut?
On Mac, download the matching DMG, open it, and drag CleanCut into Applications. On Windows, download and run CleanCut-Windows-Setup-1.0.44.exe. Both platforms include three completed videos free. The Windows early-access installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show a SmartScreen warning.
Why does CleanCut require such a large download?
The app includes the AI transcription engine, Whisper models, and video tools so processing can happen locally without uploading your files. The Mac download is approximately 2 GB and the Windows installer is approximately 1.5 GB.
Which computers are supported?
The Mac release supports Apple Silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The Windows early-access release supports 64-bit Windows 10 version 1809 or newer and Windows 11.
Is CleanCut in beta?
Yes. CleanCut is in public beta while we test more real-world video formats. The Mac release is signed and notarized; the Windows early-access installer is not yet code-signed. Unusual files may still expose bugs. Please email support with the CleanCut version, operating-system version, source format, and the message shown in the app.

Is the $19.99 price a subscription?
No. The beta launch offer is a limited-time lifetime license for CleanCut. Mac and Windows both allow one active computer at a time, and you can deactivate before moving the license.
What if CleanCut does not work for my videos?
Mac and Windows both include 3 completed videos free. If you buy and CleanCut does not work for your setup, email support within 14 days and we will help you or refund the purchase.
Where do I enter my license key?
Open CleanCut Settings, find License, and paste the key from your Polar purchase email. CleanCut confirms when this computer is activated.
How do I move my license?
While online, open Settings on the currently activated computer and choose Deactivate. That releases the activation so the same key can be entered on another Mac or Windows PC.
I lost my purchase email or key. What should I do?
Email Envelopes.app.com@gmail.com from the address used for the purchase. Include your receipt or transaction details if available.
Updates
Updates arrive as complete installers.
How do I update CleanCut?
On Mac, CleanCut offers a Download update button for signed releases. For Windows early access, use the Windows download on the CleanCut website or your Polar customer download until in-app Windows updates are added.
Will updating erase my license or settings?
No. Mac and Windows store trial usage, settings, and license activation outside the installed app, so replacing CleanCut with a newer version keeps them.
Envelopes
Envelope budgeting for iPhone and iPad.
Where do I get Envelopes?
Envelopes is available on the App Store at apps.apple.com/us/app/envelopes-the-budgeting-app/id6782375480.
Does Envelopes connect to my bank?
No. Envelopes is manual envelope budgeting. You enter account balances and transactions yourself, so the app never asks for bank credentials.
How does the subscription work?
The iPhone and iPad app includes a 14-day free trial. After that, Envelopes Premium is $2.99 per month or $24.99 per year through the App Store. Manage or cancel the subscription from your Apple account.
Do I need an account?
No account is required to budget on one device. Sign in only if you want automatic sync between your own devices.
How do I delete an Envelopes cloud account?
In the app, open Menu, choose Sign in / Sync, then Delete cloud account. If you no longer have the app installed, use envelopes-cv5.pages.dev/delete-account.
PolishKey
Local rewrites need Accessibility approval on macOS.
How will I install PolishKey?
Download PolishKey.dmg for Apple Silicon Mac, open it, and drag PolishKey into Applications. Launch the copy in Applications.
Why does PolishKey ask for Accessibility permission?
PolishKey needs Accessibility permission to read selected text and replace it in the app where you are typing. It uses this permission for the hotkey rewrite workflow, not to monitor everything you type.
Do I need to install Ollama?
No. PolishKey includes its private local runtime. When you choose local rewriting, the app guides a one-time Gemma model download with visible progress and stores it in PolishKey's application data.
What do Thinking Off, On, and Smart change?
Off favors speed, On uses deeper reasoning, and Smart turns reasoning on for longer or more complex writing. The same setting controls both the private local model and Gemini.
Do I need a Gemini API key?
No. PolishKey works locally by default. Gemini is optional and only used if you choose it in Settings and enter your own API key.
How does the license work?
PolishKey is a $19.99 one-time purchase with 25 successful rewrites free. One computer can be active at a time, and you can deactivate before moving the license to another machine.
SnapTask
Connecting Google, and the shortcut.
SnapTask opens its capture box with Ctrl+Space. If nothing happens when you press it, another application probably owns that combination; on macOS the usual culprit is the Input Sources shortcut under System Settings. Open SnapTask Settings from the menu bar icon and set a different combination.
To file captures into Google, open SnapTask Settings and choose Connect Google account. Your browser opens Google's normal sign-in page. SnapTask never sees your password. Until an account is connected, captures are written to a local file in SnapTask's application-data folder so nothing is lost.
SnapTask is free and needs no licence key or activation. It asks for no macOS permissions.
Google Tasks does not store a time of day. If you set a time and file the capture as a task, SnapTask keeps the time in the task notes. To have a real time on a real clock, choose a calendar instead.
Video processing
When a file behaves differently.
CleanCut appears to stay at a low percentage. What should I do?
Long videos can spend time preparing audio and loading the AI model. Make sure you are using the latest release. If the percentage does not change for several minutes, stop the job and email support with the source format, approximate duration, and the message shown in CleanCut.
Does CleanCut replace my original video?
On Mac, only if you enable Replace Original. Otherwise it creates a new named output beside the source or in the selected folder. Windows early access always creates a new output and leaves the source video unchanged.
Can I clean a whole folder?
Batch folder processing is currently available on Mac. Windows early access processes one video at a time.
Are videos uploaded for AI transcription?
No. The transcription model and video engine are bundled with CleanCut and run on your Mac or Windows PC.
